Tracey Roberts

Tracey Roberts is the proud Principal of Harlan Elementary School in the Brandywine School District. With over 29 years in the education field, she also served as an administrator in Baltimore City Public Schools and in the Christina School District. For the past five years, Principal Roberts has called Harlan “home”, and refers to her staff and students as “family”.

Principal Roberts earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Morgan State University and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Towson University.

Principal Roberts was an inaugural honoree for the Rodel Foundation’s iEducate Delaware Award for leading Pulaski Elementary School’s “Pulaski on the Prowl”— a home visit initiative that helped to develop stronger home-school connections.  Currently, Harlan is recognized for offering “Bedtime Stories” to students and families every Thursday evening on Zoom. For the past 3 years, school staff, local politicians, authors, and community members have partnered with Harlan to read over 120 books!

Principal Roberts’s gift is leading others using a humanistic approach in order to make teaching and learning fun, meaningful, and achievable for all. Through extra-curricular offerings, she believes that children will become stronger academically, artistically, and athletically; thereby, making them well-rounded and better prepared to reach their goals.

Principal Roberts is excited to be a part of the Wilmington Learning Collaborative to see the positive impacts of allowing staff to have autonomy with accountability, to see the growth and development of our scholars, and to see the empowerment and collaboration with families and community partners.
